Toilet constantly running from cistern into bowl

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.30 PM

My toilet is a Cersanit Parva and has developed a very small run / leak from the cistern into the bowl. I have had the internal parts of the cistern replaced and a plumber take the cistern apart completely to check it over. No fault could be found. I am keeping the water inlet closed at the moment - although it's not great to be opening and closing it all the time. If I flush the toilet with the inlet closed so the cistern does not refill, it still continues for run for another five minutes or so as if it's emptying out the dregs from the bottom of the cistern. I have a second plumber coming out this week and he seems confident he can fix it, but I'm not as everything that can be replaced has been replaced. I'm worried I'll be racking up call out charges with no fix. All ideas welcome!

if all parts have been changed and are functioning properly you may have a crack in the cistern.
