How to install 2x 210L indirect unvented tanks
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.30 PM
My house will need a 300L tank, however due to lack of height we are considering 2x210L tanks, i have plenty of space for a 300L horizontal tank, i am aware that I could split off half the taps to one tank and the other half to the other but I'm trying to avoid that. My questions are: 1. I have got confusing information regarding installing 2 tanks in parallel, one plumber has said provided the hot water flow pipe out of each tank before they join to become one are exactly the same, both tanks will be used evenly. The other has said it is impossible to get it exactly the same and so one will always be used more than the other. Which plumber is right? Is the difference the 2nd one is referring to so minute that it would not be of concern. 2. If the first one is right, would the cold water flow and the hot water pipe from the boiler also have to be of equal length. 3. I would like to avoid a horizontal tank purely because most people online do not seem to recommend it, say it is not efficient etc. Is this of real concern? The 2nd plumber is recommending I just put in a 300L horizontal tank. Thank you
