What size steel girder do I need?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.50 PM

Hi everyone We are self building a snooker room for our teenage son who is mad about snooker. We have some building experience but are stuck on how big a steel girder we need. The room will be 34' long to outer walls and the girder will support a flat roof made from timber and felted. I am thinking we need a 34' universal column as we need to keep as much head room as possible. However, we are not sure of the other dimensions the girder needs to be in order to support the weight. Any help would be massively appreciated particularly if one day our son ends up beating Ronnie O'Sullivan! 😁

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
