Replacing block paving with resin bound
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.50 PM
I have a block paved (disabled access so has a slight gradient outside front door, Total area approx 1 meter width by 2 meter in length and am currently looking Into replacing block pavers (120 In total ) with the Vuba resin bound kit. After the block work is removed and sharp sand stripped back to sub base , an idea was to use Post Crete Direct to sub base (mainly for convenience instead of mixing concrete by hand) just to raise level by approx two inches ( not sure how easy this would be to work with a trowel / float when achieving the gradient of the ramp ) then Once set , prep with Vuba epoxy bond before adding an additional 2 inches of Vuba poly Crete resin ready for the 15mm depth of resin bound to be laid. So my question is , would the post Crete be sufficient as a base or should I Just use the poly Crete resin which would be costly in coverage to gain the desired depth of 80mm or would this base be to overkill as it’s only used for light foot traffic and not for cars. Any advise would be much appreciated as not in the building trade.
