How to attach end of timber frame to a brick wall for building a deck ramp

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.49 PM

What the best way to attach timber ends to a solid wall (brick shed) to create a timber frame for a composite deck ramp? Not sure what material to buy to make sure it is fixed solid and stands the test of time. It will be a straight ramp, the timber at the front of the ramp being attached to an existing timber frame, and the end of the timber being attached to a solid wall (brick shed) where there is a french door but unsure how to affix this.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A corner bracket, or end frame cramp with a 150mm projection should do the trick. 1 either side of the timber and maybe 1 underneath if you have the clearance. Use an SDS drill and masonry plugs for the brick.

Either, masonary joist hangers. Or a timber baton fixed to masonary using either plugs and screws or threaded bar and chem fix.

I would just use long screws drilled into the wall with timber upright timbers under the end and fixed so that the end plate does not drop.
