All plug sockets keep tripping out

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.49 PM

I have unplugged all wall plugs in the house and reset the circuit breaker, it resets fine until I plug something in to any plug it will then trip. This happens to all plugs across the house. It trips when I plug the smallest of things in like the internet. Any idea on what to try?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would try ringing round for a decent electrician.

If its tripping the main RCD even with the socket/s switched off, you probably have a neutral earth fault. You will need a qualified electrician to carry out instrument testing yo determine where the fault is.

It may be that some outside lights or sockets are on the same circuit as the sockets and have become wet or damaged.

Sounds like a cable on the circuit can be damaged causing a trip. I recommend you getting a qualified electrician out to inspect.
