Hi, you'll need a heavy metal bar, roughneck bars are around £20. Work around the edge of the concrete block breaking up and removing the earth around it. You can use a spade to dig out the earth around it as well. Once about half way down use the bar to try to lever underneath the block (sometimes these are like icebergs with most of the surface area underground) and break the suction that the soil around the concrete creates. Best way is to try and remove in 1 lump or you will be there all day trying to break it in to pieces. Hope that helps!

Dig a bigger hole around concrete and to the depth of concrete and wiggle the post then should become loose try and lift post with concrete on out, once removed hit the concrete with a large sledge hammer around post and concrete should fall off no cost just abit of hard graft good luck with what ever you decide

The best way to way to get the old post out it to make sure you have dug a big enough hole around the post. If the concrete which surrounds the post hasn’t got any room to move then it is still occupying the same hole. You have to give yourself some room to move it. Use a breaker then to take big lumps away and it will finally come free.
