Door frames and skirting

My door frames and skirting have multiple layers of gloss on them, from previous occupiers (council flat) Is it easier and cheaper to get new frames and skirting put on, or sand down and remove paint from existing frames and skirting?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi I would definitely send down and repaint its alot easier and cost less than new frames

Spend forever rubbing Filling and sanding.. then re painting ..
Could replace skirtings casings and architraves in no time... all new and pre primed... no brainier!!

Replacing the skirting could be easier especially if it is shaped in a decorative style. If it is just pencil rail or bull nose it might be easy enough to sand.
The door carcase I would rub back though if its DIY as this a a fair bit more work to replace.

Without seeing the skirting in question. I would say that replacement would be the most satisfactory solution, as renovating old wood is testing at the best of times none more so than skirting boards.
