Smoothing out concrete driveway and painting it:
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.32 PM
Hi, Our driveway is a mixture of concrete and path slabs, roughly 2 cars can fit on it, gaps have been patched with concrete filler and the whole area probably needs some sort of sanding down and smoothing so its all nice and flat. The idea is then to paint it with a dark grey masonry type paint. Is this all possible? Is there any point doing this at all?

You could hire a concrete scabbler..but if your drive has been pointed it will most likely break up

This is possible but will be all about the Preperation of the slabs and concrete. They will need to be diamond grinded or shot blasted to give paint best possible key, I would also advise a epoxy resin costing or polyurethane coating with a Anti slip back rolled into the coating. I would advise against your standard masonry paint also have it professionally done hope this helps 👍

As my colleague as pointed out to hire a concrete scabbler,it would more than likely break up and as for painting after time it would start to flake and would start to look grubby.hope this helps.with your dylemour but don't hesitate to ask for anymore information.
