Leaking joint.from mains to toilet.

Copper mains water supply to toilet is coupled with plastic or nylon thread .l have a drip from the join does this mean a washer needs replacing if so is this something l should attempt to do myself.

turn off water undo check for washer and replace,refit carefully metal to plastic very often cross threads.

It is something you could try (be prepared for some swearing). The fibre washer on the connection to the plastic fill valve could need replacing, but if the two parts have been together for a while then the thread on the plastic may get damaged once separated. Then a new fill valve will be needed. Preferably one with a brass shank.
My honest opinion would be to get a plumber.
