Best way to hide laminate expansion gap near stairs
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.56 PM
I’ve removed all skirts and laminated two rooms and hallway with no door profiles, straight through transitions and 12mm gap around all ends. Issue is as I approach the stairs in hallway, I want to cover the expansion gap but do not want to use scotia. I went to a lot of trouble to avoid all that. I’m wondering, is it possible to lift the carpet slightly, run my laminate close to bottom of last step, leaving 10-12mm for expansion and then use an adhesive spray to stick the carpet to the end of the laminate? *** UPDATE *** I left a decent gap all around the perimeter and butted up close to the carpet. Since I have thick carpet, it was well hidden and still had a decent 8mm expansion gap which couldn't be seen. Overall, best solution... my floor is complete with no scotia/beading anywhere at all :) Thank you to everyone that replied to this question!!
