Double check valves for bathroom mixer taps with direct heating system
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.56 PM
I have changed my sink in the main bathroom and the new flexi hoses from the taps do not reach the existing water supply(isolator valves). I need to extend them about 30cm. My question is do I need to fit double check valves As this as I have a direct heating system or can I just extend the pipe work with copper pipe work? The taps I’m sure do not have inbuilt valve

Hi
No need for check valves on a basin if you have a combination boiler and the tap outlet is above the overflow or maximum waterline of the basin.
So extend pipes with flexi connections copper or plastic pipe it's your choice
Hope this helps Dave

You will be fine just extending the pipework adequately for the flexi hoses to reach.

Hello,
I will suggest you use a push fit valves + push fit flexible connections, this easy you can find in Screwfix and also not so expensive.
This is will give you ability to do a 100% safe job once you are not a professional plumber, and also giving you 50 years manufacturer warranty for fittings.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
