Why is frogtape pulling off paint from my newly plastered walls?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.56 PM

Hi The room has been plastered and I have painted the ceiling with the appropriate mist coat and 2 further coats. I am now applying a darker colour and would like a really clean edge so bought frog tape. When I pull the frogtape off the ceiling after a short while or a long while it pulls off the white paint. I have tied cutting in by hand but it looks rubbish. Could anyone advise? Many thanks

One person saying try low contact masking tape well thats exactly what frog tape is.The answer to your problem is the the paint on the walls and how it was applied to your new plaster and not the frog tape. Was the plaster given enough time to dry before the paint was applied? were the walls sized properly before painting? if yes to both try a higher quality paint that may be your problem.
