This is water hammer, one of the taps has got a faulty insert. Changing this or the tap for new would solve the problem

It sounds like it could be a few things
It could be your mains water stop cock
It could be washers or cartridges need replacing or could even be a washer on a ball valve either on your toilet or in the tank in the loft if you have one its depends on what type of system you have i.e combination boiler or you have a gravity system with a cylinder in an airing cupboard

The washers need replacing, thats most likely the cause of waterhammer(noise in pipework)

Hi , this is known as water hammer and is very common. It is usually caused by a faulty valve in a tap or toilet fill valve etc, that does not open or shut smoothly causing the pipework to vibrate upon operating a tap or valve opened or shut.
It is most likely the kitchen tap that requires the valve replacing or the tap changing due to it letting by even when closed. I would start with this tap but there is a chance the upstairs could be faulty too causing further hammer.
Thanks
