Sewage Treatment Plant fan

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

Does anyone know whether the fan on an STP needs to be switched on 24/7? Never had one before, but moved into a property with one & it seems to be using 60kw a day!! Thanks for the response Llyn Cambrian (not sure how to reply, if I can?!). The property used to be a restaurant, so it is a commercial size Conder STP. Installed about 10 years ago. We have tested & re-tested having the fan/pump on for a day then off for a day over a couple of weeks & it's definitely the fan/pump using about 60kw a day. I have an £8k electricity bill as a result *sob*.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

thanks for revised You say pump /fan is consuming the electricity Is it possible that the pump may be running all the time? Although even this seems unlikely to amount to your usuage By calculations you are using 2.5kw per hour a large amount for your installation If fan and pump are easily accessed I would suggest you see if any model type or power are listed and then calculate
