Would like to know about ECV fitting when there is no where to put one?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

Can anyone advise what I need to do when there apparently is no where in my flat to put an ECV?.. I had a new kitchen and flooring 2 years ago and the certificate has always passed and now I have at risk stickers because of no ECV. Do you think i'm going to be faced with having everything ripped apart to attach everything and re-run the gas supply and what sort of job would this be? Look forward to hearing from you! If I need an ecv and there isn’t physically a place to put one what should I do?.. do I need to be repaired to rip the flat apart to find a gas pipe to fit one?!?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

First of all their must be a meter So the ECV should be Before the meter,If you are 100% sure that there’s no ECV at the property please call Cadent the gas emergency people they will come and fit you and ECV, Please check meter bank or in a cupboard sometime you have to look very careful.

Hi, If there is no place to put an ECV in your flat, then yes you would have to remove some flooring to get access to the gas pipe and install one. You dont need to rip out full flooring. Its hard to tell without looking at it to be honest. Its better if you get someone to look at it. Hope this helps. Tan
