Certificates for outside socket

I need to get an outside socket installed with RCD protection. It will mean coming off an existing socket in the house and out into the garden, about 12 feet of cabling to where the RCD socket will be placed. What certificates should I be issued to ensure Im complying with regs and laws. Thanks

A minor electrical installation works certificate would need to be provided. This certificate confirms that the minor electrical installation work to which it relates has been designed, constructed and tested in accordance with BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations). It is also called the Minor Works Certificate. It is a legal requirement to which everybody must comply.
The Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate is required for:
- Alteration made to an existing circuit (without the change of the protective device)
- Addition made to an existing circuit (such as a new socket outlet).
The certificate will have RCD tripping times listed on there as well. The original document must be given to the "person ordering the work" and a copy should be kept by the electrician who completed the inspection and testing.

Same as Bailey Fisher but if you have RCD protection already on the circuit that you are going to extend off you do not need an RCD socket. There is a big difference in cost. I prefer the MK Masterseal as I find them to be the best quality. About £30 from Screwfix. The RCD version about £55.
