Pull cord light not working

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

I have a pull cord for two bathroom lights. I didn’t like the old rope so I opened the old unit and fed the new rope through the various parts of the old unit but now the lights aren’t coming on. I can hear the click when i pull the rope but no lights. I believe I replaced all the little bits in correct order. I wish I hadn’t done this now as perfectly working lights are not working now. Please advise. Thanks

Hi there. I believe when you opened main connector block for pulling the new rope through ,you did not installed connector / contactors at right position or at different direction. You will need to try unscrew unit back and check, but better to give a go for the specialist to look at it or replace it for the new switch

Sounds like you could have broken the spring function that makes the contact within the pullcord, I would suggest getting a local qualified electrician to come and replace it for you.
