Do I need to get a council permission to turn my front garden into a stone a driveway, I was planning to use a block paving.

There is no need for planning permission for your driveway, as mentioned if it’s your house not an issue.

If it is a conservation area, then yes, you will need permission. If it is not conserved and you already have been granted permission by the council to have the curb dropped infront of your house, then it should be fine whatever you choose. Cheers, Kirk

No you don't, but people can park in front of the drive if you haven't got drop curbs. You would have to pay the council to have some put in.
