Screws into brick

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.09 PM

Im putting up a bracket for a punchbag against my brick wall garage externally. Ive heard conflicting advice on whether it is better to use thunderbolts to go into without any rawlplugs OR if it is better to use plugs alongside concrete bolts. Basically plugs or not plugs? Its going into standard red brick and the load will be 25-30kg. Also does anyone know if using glue is necessary if a plug is not used (ie with thunderbolts) Thanks Chas

I would use Rawlbolts not screws and rawlplugs.

Since it's punchbag I'd fix it with rawl bolts. They are really versatile and are available in a wide range of sizes and strengths.

Rawl bolts / Anchor bolts without plugs. Make sure the hole is dust free after drilling. Be careful not to over tighten the bolts.
