How best to remove old paint from decking

I have decking which is painted black, however the reviews for the quality of black decking paint are very poor as is evident with the current state of my decking where the paint is pealing off. Is there a way to remove all the paint and go back to the stained wood.

depending on paint based oil or water based ? water based i recommend the kracher power jet which i have used before and it is great for removing water stained decking. oil based, wire brush and paint stripper with protective clothing, wash down with solution then power jet as above.

Theres a few ways to do this. Jet wash, wire brush or belt sander, maybe even a combination of them all depending on how easy the paint comes off. If it's only the floor which is painted then replacing the old boards with new ones would be a much quicker way. Decking boards are pretty cheap so it wont cost you the earth and they're easy to fix back down

if its oil based paint and quite thick I would use a heat gun and scrape it off.If its not thick I'd paint some paint stripper on it and then wire brush it off afterwards.

The preperation needed to bring this decking floor back to bare timber would be an un nessasarly messy job and would be cheaper and neater and quicker to re new the timber which come ready treated
