What is the best thing to use to fill in tiles that are behind pipes and the toilet in the bathroom

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.29 PM

I have bought a house and have noticed since I moved in that the tiler or the man that I bought the house off has left spaces not filled between some tiles. They are in a few awkward spots like behind the toilet and some pipes. Just wondering if I would need to use grout for these small sections or can I use caulk. Thank you in advance for your help :-)

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Behind pipes are always going to be a fiddle to get your hand in what I tend to do is use a and this will sound stupid I know but a cake piping bag with the grout in and a thin end then use a micro fibre cloth wrapped round a stick or a pencil to wash it off.

Grout would be the best as it will last longer. If the area is around the WC waste pipe you could see if a 110mm pipe collar would cover the area. Available from Screwfix etc. If not then I would grout it probably using a small spatula.

Hello, I would mix up the colour grout that you have on the walls already in a small cup, and then if you have a small flexible scraper use that if not you could use a knife to get behind there. Also you can use pipe collars to cover the area around the pipes too.
