loose kitchen mixer tap - fixing bolt

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.49 PM

Hi I have a loose kitchen mixer tap, I've seen how to adjust this by tightening the fixing bolt under the sink, however the bolt does not look like any other I've found online, and there is also no access to get a tube spanner over the bolt. does anyone recognise this? https://ibb.co/bsYC0FV (link to picture of bolt here) thanks in advance

Considering from the picture is very easy to fix this problem, just you need a right tools. You will need a ROTHENBERGER MONOBLOCK TAP SPANNER which you can easily find in Screwfix or Toolstation. Good luck!

You should be able to get a box spanner over the retaining bolt if you can hold the flexible pipe that feed the tap out the way. If it’s installed on rigid pipe work you can bend them out the way slightly to get access.

On the bottom of the nut there is a slot for a flat head screwdriver to undo it.

That is a common type of fixing. The end is slotted and will accept a very wide slotted screwdriver. But sometimes the brass can break. It also takes a momobloc spanner. But this will be hard to use because of the copper tails. Or try a very small adjustable. Even a correct size ring spanner. But looking at it. I’d suggest replacing the tap
