Hot water not very hot in bath - rest of house and taps very hot.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.31 PM

All the taps (hot & cold) in all rooms (kitchen & bathroom) Are working perfect but not the hot water tap in our upstairs bathroom. It has medium hot water temperature.Although the shower in that bathroom has very hot water - so when doing hot bath we need to use the shower to fill up the bath as water from tap is not hot at all... It’s a new build my house. I don’t know what it could be , any suggestions or help please ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

There maybe a blending valve connected to the hot water supply under bath panels that controls the heat to the bath it’s there so you don’t get too hot water and scold your self building regulations but when they put it in they might have not commissioned it and may need tweaking Otherwise it’s your tap not all new things work Thanks

If your house is a new build it will have a thermostatic blending valve to the bath to limit the water temperature to 48 degrees as above it could be faulty or may need adjustment, employ the services of a plumber or get the company who built the house back under guarantee.

Get the housing firm back as these blending valves are not so cheap if a new one is needed . Under the guarantee from the plumber it's up to them to fix
