What would be the best way to repair a small dent in a dark grey composite door?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.31 PM

I want to repair a dent in front door, which was caused due to wind blowing it back on to window sill edge. The dent is fairly noticeable as the inner material (white) is showing on an otherwise dark grey door. I've attached an online link to the door closest to the one I have as I can't see any picture upload option. https://www.tkhi.co.uk/news/modern-front-door-ideas

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Depending on size of dent, I would use a 2 part filler, fill the void, sand back so it is flush and then spray the area

Hi Ann depending on the size and severity of the dent if it’s a small dent you can repair it with the Konig hard surface repair kit. If it’s too big for the repair kit it can be filled and resprayed. https://www.konig-uk.co.uk/repair-kits/each-ko614-window-doctor-kit-konig-uk-

I repaired windows and doors for years using wax repair kits, fillers and paint. If it was an older door, eg pvc. I would agree fill and paint. If I were you, i would have it professionally fixed by some one like the plastic surgeon. They use special resins and are superb at colour matching. I think if you try it, you would notice it and with the colour of the door, the door will move, expand and contract so the repair might not stay in place.
