Breeze block wall

We have a block wall in the garden and I was thinking of painting it. I’ve heard that blocks just absorb all the paint. Is it worth trying to paint it or do you have any other ideas on improving its appearance? Based on the answer below, It probably isn’t breeze block. Some kind of concrete block. Wall has been there for many years before we moved here.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Breeze block/thermalite block should never be used externally because of frost and cracking issues..... best to replace if possible

Use outdoor self levelling paint for Smooth finish that will whether great not be to absorbent and look awsome.

Breeze blocks / thermalite can be used externally as long as the exposed side(s) are rendered with a good mix so as to make the surfaces waterproof.
Once fresh render been applied to the breeze blocks and smoothed through out, then it is left to go off (say 3 to 4 hours).
Thereafter the surfaces are wet sponged all over to make it gritty and paint absorbant. Et voilà, the right way to redress crap jobs.

Sounds like concrete block wall if you water the paint down a little for the first coat then paint normally

Replace with concrete blocks and render if that's the style your going for then can easy be painted.

It's probably concrete blocks if you want to look nice you're better off renderng it first
