Under sink leak from flexi tube join supply valve

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

Under a small sink with mixer tap, one of the flexi tubes has started to leak, where it joins what I think is the supply valve (which then has copper pipe below). The length of the tube above is definitely dry; water is pooling slightly on top of the supply valve. The top of the supply valve is nut-shaped, so I have tried tightening it but it cannot tighten. Can anyone help? (The whole thing was installed over a year ago, and the same/similar problem occurred early on when the guy who installed it came back, blamed some inferior quality part and fixed it.)

You probably need to isolate to remove the flexi joint. Check washer...replace if possible. You may need to replace the hose 10 or 12 mm. If the hose is leaking from hose where it meets the nut the hose needs changing. This has potential for new tap if thread is corroded at tap end of hose. Good luck

The joint needs to be undone, PTFE tape wrapped around the olive and fitting thread then re- connected.
