Water sounds in bedroom wall?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

Thanks for your replies, it’s now been resolved. It was my neighbour’s toilet refilling constantly as there was an issue with their loo. I could hear it as we’re in a terraced house and their fill pipe was audible in the adjoining wall. No leaks, thankfully. I live in a terraced house with downstairs bathroom at the front of the house. My bedroom runs front to back, above the bathroom and kitchen. Today, I started hearing a constant ‘whooshing’ Sound, like water in pipes, from the back, left corner of the bedroom. My neighbour’s bathroom is on the other side of the wall, so thought it may be that, however, my husband said the water noise stops when I turned a tap on in the bathroom. I turned the water off at the stopcock but the noise remained. Please will you let me know what this is likely to be? Noticed it first when going to bed at 11pm on 24/4. Went silent for appx 20 seconds at 7am on 25/4 without us doing anything as everyone was in bed, but came back the same sound as before. Many thanks for your help.

Without looking it could be an overflow from the main tank

Sounds like a burst pipe in the wall, your side or your neighbours side
