RHP Twin pump allowing hot water to pass up the cold water feed?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.48 PM
i have a RHP Twin pump connected but it appears that hot water is passing through the pump and up the cold water feed to the extent that the cold water tank is now warm? Should there be a balancing valve fitted?

No you dont normally need a balancing valve It appears to me that the hot water pressure is higher therefore overriding the cold water pressure and moving up the cold pipe Best to run both pipes from the same tank if posdible and to run the same size pipes then you should have equal pressures

If indeed water is being forced back into tank your overflow would be discharging water
If it is not the warm water is being caused by something else

This is not a DIY Task as you could end up breaking the pump although.
