Finding the right doors seems to be a lot harder than I thought.

So I am planning on swapping out all the internal doors on my property, it's from the 1920's so the door sizes are a little off of what is current practice and i'm look for some advise. I was planning on getting someone into do this for me, but getting furloughed has ruined that (time to learn a new skill). 6 internal doors at: 755mm width x 195.5mm to 197.5mm height 1 bathroom door at: 715mm width x 195.5mm height 1 bathroom door at: 68mm width x 190mm height There are so many doors available, but i'm not sure if they can all be cut down to the measurements I need. I have found some howdens DIE6960 door that I like the look of, link to them is below. Would these work for me? or is there a better alternative that anybody knows of? https://www.howdens.com/joinery/doors/howdens-holdenby-oak-door-obj-sku-family-die6960?productFamilyId=DIE6960&skuId=DIE6960 Many thanks in advance Matt

Hi, Always a problem when swapping old doors for new, sizes tend to not be standard on older properties. If you can't afford to have them bespoke made, your best option would be to opt for a style that is solid and trim them to suit. Solid will be more expensive that a veneer, but it is likely to give you the best flexibility with size trimming. If its a solid door through and through, its only a visual aspect that the rails and stiles will be smaller, cut them even to both edges. Beware the doors you purchase are not veneer with solid core. This is a common door take up, but this type of door will only give you 10-15mm of solid trim before you will pierce into the core, which could be timber, chipboard, blockboard!. A company I would suggest is Kaybee Doors. They have a very large range and very competitive. They have good customer service too. Good to learn a new skill, but don't underestimate the task, chances are the older the house, the frames may be a task too! Good Luck

The six internal doors standard size would be 762x1981 35mm thick These doors should be of solid real wood so that they can be trimmed to the desired size. You would have to hunt around for a similar style to your existing doors or if you can not get the exact match then you will have to get them specially made.

The doors you have seen from Howdens are oak veneer so like Archer Furniture Have said you will only get about 15mm of oak edging before you expose the chipboard.

Have you not thought about bespoke ledge and brace doors ? I would suggest solid oak , it would be a more expensive option but for they are made to suit openings. Craig
