Ceiling rose fitting

From ceiling I have 3 reds 1 black and an earth.from light fitting I have a brown and blue,with a connector block I wire all reds to brown and single black to blue but the light stays on continuously?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

2 of the reds are permanent live, 1 of them is the switch line return from the switch. You really need an electrician to test it through for you, before either giving yourself a shock or worse.

Normally there will be 3 cables, one supply, one to continue supply onto next light, 3rd is for the switch. Make sure power is turned off from the fuse box before staring any work. If you have a multi meter or buzzer you can identify the switch cable. Disconnect all wires, connect meter to one of the red's and its black. IF the meter reads short (or buzzer sounds) change switch postion, if the readings change you have found the switch wire. Mark with brown tape the black/blue wire, this should be connected to live of the light. The other wires should be connected black or blue to neutral of light, Red or brown to live loop (usually in centre of rose) along with the red/brown wire identified as the swtich wire.
