Hi, Interesting question.
You must have something specific in mind which would be worth explaining further.
'Italian Gothic' is a bit of a misnomer/ oxymoron as it mixes two almost opposing ideas. 'Italian style' usually has shallow pitched roofs, say 22 degrees, while 'Gothic style' typically has steep pitches, say 48 or 52 degrees.

Hi,
This is a strange question, so I have just googled this and all roofs look like 50 deg., certainly greater than 45 deg. The most common pitch in the UK is 40 to 43 deg. I find. Architects avoid the dreaded 45 deg. Hope this helps.

Hi John,
To create an Italian Gothic style roof you have to consider the overall proportion of the structure - while 50 degrees may be sufficient in some instances, the overall width of the gable will determine whether or not this will create a Gothic style effect.
