Outside tap from mains line

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.30 PM

Have a mains water line (blue 1" MDPE) coming into a garden wood cabin up from the floor. It's currently just capped off and not yet used and I wanted to now use this and run a pipe to outside the cabin for a garden tap. What size pipe should i use to connect to the blue one (1" seems excessive for the garden tap bit). I need to run the pipe out and behind the cabin so a run of about 7 meters from the new join to the tap. Would some kind of speedfit 15mm pipe be the way to go ? what adaptor fitting would i need to connect to the blue pipe? thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

As mentioned by agc If the mdpe is 32mm I personally would fit a plasson 32mm stop tap this well go straight on the blue mdpe one side and in the other end fit a 32x25mm plasson reducer kit and a 25mm x 15mm plasson copper adaptor kit ( instructions are on the packets in diagrams) If the mdpe pipe is 25mm I personally would fit a 25mm x 15mm brass stop tap available in either screw fix of tollstation Both methods give you 15mm outlets to run pipe to your outside tap with a stop tap if needed . Hope this is of help.

You will need either a 20mm or 25mm mdpe to copper adaptor to connect to the blue pipe. This comes in compression x push fit then you can run the rest in copper 15mm or push fit if you wanted to to the garden tap. Hope this helps
