Would a builder or architect be the one to help with what needs doing ie, removal of wall and steels? I’d like someone from start to finish and not serve rap different people. I know what I want done. I just need someone to make it happen!

If the wall is load bearing, then a building warrant will need to be obtained. This will require a drawing to be issued to Building Control, and a structural engineer will also need to be employed to design the structural support. We can organise to prepare the architectural drawing(s), organise the structural engineer, carry out the submissions to Building Control, and arrange for a builder to carry out the construction works.

Hi,
You need a builder who has a structural engineer back up for calculating a supporting beam size. Small works similar to yours can be done under Building Notices between the builder and a Building Control Surveyor requiring an inspection fee. Hope this helps.

A structural Engineer is the person you need to calculate the load on the wall and design a steel beam arrangement, possibly with padstones at each end so the wall can be safely removed. Armed with this information you can then approach builders for a quotation to do the building work.
Bear in mind you will require building regulation approval to remove a load-bearing wall.

If the wall is load bearing then you are going to need a building warrant. You will also need a drawing issued by building control.
