What should I use to fix a stone house sign to a stone wall?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

The sign is approx 400 x 100mm and about 20mm thick limestone. I want to attach it to a stone wall. The surface of the stone is not completely flat and there are mortar lines. What adhesive should I use?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would use stainless flat headed screws with a thick rubber washer behind, much more secure than adhesive and the rubber washers should take up the un eveness of the wall, you can double up washers if needed. Hope this helps

I’d use stainless hex head bolts with washers and masonry plugs. I’d bed the sign on a layer of lime mortar and rub the join.
