Is it possible to move my water stop tap?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

Hi, Is it possible to move the location of the stop tap within my kitchen? Obviously I know when work was being done on my boiler etc they turned the water off from this stop tap so I’m not sure on how you would turn the water off that goes to the tap in order to move it’s location ? It’ll be along the same wall in the kitchen just about a metre to the right so it’s accessible under the sink in the cupboard. Is it a routine thing for a plumber ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

hi, to answer your question it is an easy job to relocate the stopcock should be able to isolate from the street and move if not other options to freeze the pipe or just use an existing stop tap to shut the water and fit a new stopcock.

Easier option is to fit a “sure stop”

Shut off water at the stop cock, can remove or just place new stop cock wherever. The old stop cock can be left in place but left open if customer desires
