Cooker hood SIA2 COOKER HOOD

Hi I've just bought a sia2 cooker hood with a receculation carbon filter and it's just a blue and brown wire can I use a normal plug 3amp to plug in a normal plug socket really appreciate your answer thanks

Check the power of the hood (should not be high). 3amp plug should be enough. if you cooker is gas remember that the hood must be a 75cm higher from the burner, this is the regulation.

You can use a standard 13a plug and fit a 3a fuse in the plug.

Would be better via a fused switched Spur. 3 amp fuse, but, if you want to stick a plug on it then .... ok.

Yes, There is not a domestic cooking extractor that can’t be put on a 13A plug but the fuse in it should be chosen in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Similarly, hood height above cooker Hob (gas or electric) should again be to manufactures instructions and only to a default regs height if not stated.
