Plumbing on a Washing machine to an extended water pipe.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.30 PM

A few years ago we had some renovation work done creating a utility room at the back of the house, in the utility room we put a washing machine, there was no mains water, so an extended pipe was installed from the kitchen. Recently the washing machine broke, so I've bought a new one, both are Bosch. The issue is, the broken machine has a water inlet incased in a tube with an electrical wire also running alongside it, the wire was attached to a small connector inside the machine, but my new machine doesn't have that connector. Does anybody know what this wire does? The new machine isn't taking in water, so I'm guessing the pipe case is attached to some kind of pump. What do I need to do to get water to my machine? ------------------------ Thanks MPH-Services, I'd never seen (or heard of) an AquaStop pipe before, I removed this and replaced with standard pipe and all working now. Much appreciated Den

If there is water in the pipe and the valve on the end of the pipe is open, the washing machine should do the rest, I wouldn't worry about what your old machine had.. If you get water out of the valve when the valve is open? I would turn it off, disconnect the hose from the machine and crack the valve to see if water passes through the hose? If that is a yes and the machine has power and you have taken the transits bolts out of the back of the new machine then it should work. If this is not the case you might have faulty machine and you should phone the manufacturers and seek advise. Good luck

The encased electrical wire and contractor allows for remote switches control as there was no mains water before. Replace the contractor and supply lines like for like or new design to meet conditions of deliver water and power to machine and collect and dispose waste water safely from the area.
