Matt dark tiles, can they be silked or painted over?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.30 PM

Hello. Ive had my bathroom tiled with dark matt tiles. Big mistake I made I know. However what are the solutions? Can they be painted over? Varnished to make them gloss? I know retiling is an option but didn't want to go through mess again. Please kindly advise. Regards Bal Hi, Ive removed them as they we only 2/3 rd tiled. Best to make this loss now rather than keep looking at them everyday. Thank you for your answers, appreciated

Yes you can paint over however this isnt ideal practice, as your grout will still be the same colour which could loose some of the characteristics of the tiles

Hi, although you can paint just about anything these days with the vast array of top quality paints, you won't get away from the fact that it would look like it has been painted. Therefore I would just bite the bullet and replace the tiles and put it down to experience. Hope this helps!
