Best brand of T22 radiator?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.30 PM

I am reluctantly having to replace a radiator in the living room. The twenty year old single one looks good but now I have a new boiler fitted (replacing old back boiler) I realise that the existing radiator is not up to the job of keeping the room warm and still have to use gas fire as before. I have looked at a few rads and a T22 option seems my best option but do brands vary in quality. Kudox? Barlo? Halcyon? Other? Any difference between them and if so which is the best? Any advice appreciated. Regards Rootosh

If thats the case just replace it with a new one ,a 20 year old radiator does not sound good at all , it is probably filled with dirt from the system .

it is really a good choice to upgrade existing radiator. Centre brand Plumb Centre own are really good value for money and stelrad are at the higher end of the scale. make sure you add some anti corrosion chemicals after the drain down to and system longevity you may even want to consider a power flush. Hello Rootosh, A system of 20 years it will definitely needs a system flush for all the sludge and magnesite build up. But to get an accurate size, type and the most efficient radiator you will need your engineer to calculate the BTU British thermal unit of your rooms before raplacing any. Revive is a good brand to start with for type 22 radiators if that is the type of radiators you need for your rooms. Hopefully this information helps you. Regards Romaine Allen&co

should really check to see if the system needs a power flush as well as replacing the radiator.
