Internal door locks

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.30 PM

I’m looking for an internal door lock that can be locked from both sides of the door. My cat has learnt how to open an bedroom door so looking g for a door lock so that the door can be locked from either side. Been looking at a bolt lock in the top corner, but can these be used from both sides, if a hole is drilled on both sides?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You could use a dead lock but I think you want a cheap dirty fix? So I would recommend using a star lock. Easy to fix and relatively cheap and definitely cat proof:)

You could use a rear mounted sash lock that would be a cheaper fix or a rack bolt

Star locks work. However, if you want to exit the room on a hurry and can’t find the key, consider a euro profile mortise lock with a Thumb Turner. Meets fire regs.
