Which first? Wood flooring or New door frame?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.30 PM
I am planning to have new wood flooring put down in the hallway leading up to the front door. I am also planing to have the entire uPVC front door frame replaced. My question is which job should be done first? Will they effect eachother if done the wrong way around?

I would replace the exterior door and frame first and then have the wood flooring fitted afterwards, fitting the frame first means that if any plaster repairs need doing this can be done prior to the flooring being fitted.the last thing you want is to damage the new floor. Hope this answer maybe of some help.

I would change the main entrance door first, then lay the new floor.

Door First anyway but make sure you left enough gap under door for the wooden floor

Door first so that the wood flooring doesn’t get damaged in the process. Also make sure that there is a gap big enough under the door for the wood flooring to fit so that the door doesn’t catch n damage the flooring Aswell

Doors first, because u need to minimalize gap between flooring and doors.
