20yr old mock tudor home on large housing estate. Do i see pine beams/planks on the exterior and coated with fence paint?? Friend tells me yes, common practice.

Im fresh over from australia and a painter. client seemed upset when i told her that the mock beams looked like pine finished with fence preserver.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you could well be write, a few years ago i worked on large house projects around london area for a well knowen developer we were fixing pine beams to outside to make look like mock tuder over this we stained dark oak coulour and then varnished in mat Looked like the real thing but not

more likely to be cedar or larch..... if its a top end property the reclaimed oak. All depends on the type of estate, whether its mass housing estate or a single detached build....never heard of pine being used on external mock beams.
