Type of roof - Sunroom
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.08 PM
I am curious as to what type of roof you think should be installed on a sunroom extension (brick walls with windows rather than UPVC all around). I have heard of Leka and Ultralite 380 systems but I am unsure whether these are mainly used on conservatories rather than an extension as they are lighter than a traditional timber/tile roof. My question is what roof would you suggest to have installed? Normal roof like on a house or one of these 'Leka' & 'Ultralite 380' systems. Any advice is much appreciated! :) Thanks

Given you would be using masonry as the main structure as opposed to a full glazed load bearing system, a single ply membrane roof with a large roof lantern would be very cost effective whilst still achieving a light and airy sun room

Depending on size, i would go for hip, vaulted roof in tile or slate to match house with velux windows.

Vaulted ceilings give a feeling of more space with velux windows for the light. But if you haven't got the height for a pitched roof . Go for grp flat roof with lantern
