install an en-suite in a downstairs front room

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

I want to install an en-suite in a downstairs front room. There is a manhole which is not shared in the front garden very close to this room, can I run a soil pipe straight into the manhole? do I need permission? do I need to vent this as the man hole connects to a manhole at the back of the house where the existing vent pipe connects to?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You should enlist a plumber to help with planning this.He will be able to tell you where to go with all your waste etc.You are going to need building regs too.

You can connect into this chamber if you are sure it is the foul sewer. the connection must be made in a proper manner and connected in the bottom at invert level. Building control must inspect the work on the drain, a vent should not be needed but check with your building inspector.
