What comes first boarding or plumbing

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.07 PM

Hi I am currently in the process of a complete bathroom refurbish. I have had conflicting advice around plumbing the bathroom and boarding. Currently walls are back to brick. We are moving the toilet slightly, adding a freestanding bath into a different position to the original bath, new sink once again in a different place to the original and adding a enclosed shower unit. Should I be planning to reboard the room first or have the pipe work rerouted? It’s a box room bathroom if that makes any difference Thanks in advanced!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi L. Surely doing all pipes first would be much more sensible and easy. Hope this helps Raphael

As everything is bare it’s always best to first fix all plumbing before plastering

I've always carried out 1st fix on the plumbing before the boarding as been completed. Keeps everything tidy instead of a load of pipework and fixings on show in your nice new bathroom

The person that’s doing the boarding should be the one making the decisions if you are unsure
