Not enough hot water to fill my bath
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.07 PM
Just in the last few days when running a bath the water runs cold after about 7 mins. If I turn off the bath tap and run the whb tap I can then get more hot water. I spoke to the boiler company who tell me this is because of my tap. I am not in an area where hard water is a problem. My tap is a standard tap. Was looking for a second opinion please

If the bath filling tap has a thermostatic mixer, the cartridge filter could be affected by limescale and doesn't operate properly. The reason for it is the hard water in your area. The water softener will be a good solution to protect your appliances. Usually, cartridges are removable and can be cleaned or exchanged.

I am agree with answer, do you have hot water issues in only you bath. What about kitchen and wash basin. Also what boiler you have compi or system boiler, If you have hot water celinder the motorise valve may be issue, if your kitchen tap and wash basin hot waters are working fine the the tap is the issue.

It could be that your cylinder(if you have one).is scaled up.
Could be heating alot less water than you think.
