Waste connection for toilet

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.27 PM

I want to replace a close-coupled toilet which is connected through the floor to the waste pipe by what I think is called a swan neck pan connector (90 degrees but with a bulge away from the pan, towards the wall). The hole in the floor is 10 cm diameter and starts 11 cms from the wall and extends to 21 cms from the wall. As all the new toilets I am seeing have a much slimmer cistern, the pan outlet pipe is nearly always closer to the wall than 21 cms and in some cases, the bottom of the pan would cover some or all of the hole in the floor. Does this mean they are unsuitable or can the underfloor waste pipe be moved or a different type of connector used?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

as the pan base sits over drain you will have to alter drain.

There are many different types of connections you could try, but first look around more im sure there is a toilet to match your one, if not you could always build a boxing at the back of the toilet to make sure the waste will fit. Regards james

Hello What you could do is use a low level toilet. It allows you to use a flush pipe and cut it to size allowing you to use original waste(soil, drain) go on to Screwfix type in toilet, look for low level toilet. The cistern is held on the wall by brackets. May need to buy larger flush pipe hope this helps.
