Concealed thermostatic shower

I hve a thermosatic concealed shower which cuts out with a big clunk when showering I can re start the shower by turning the hot tap in the sink adjacent to the shower

Sounds like it needs a new thermostat in the the shower valve, but it could water feed problems, would need fully investigateing.

Could be working on uneven pressures as in tank fed hot an mains fed cold. But like is said needs investing

I think the answers giving are fair assumptions.
It could be a simple thermostat issue, like many that scaled up due to hard water in SE area.
Are more in depth investigation is required to determine root cause
