Water in bedroom from neighbours having new roof done

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.27 PM

I had a new roof done about 6/7yrs ago, I've had no problems at all, about 5/6weeks ago my neighbours put a new roof on their house I've now noticed I've got damp in my bedroom which is joined with theirs, I've looked out my window and there is water pouring down the outside wall, this as happened since they had their new roof done what can I do about it please help

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like the gutter joint between you and next door or the gutters are full of debris I suggest you have them checked Regards Sean

it could be that the tiles are not reaching over the facia board far enough and the water is not going into the gutter.

If you have water comming down the outside wall from main roof where nexetdoor roof joins check your guttering may be the guttering nexet door is not joined into yours there for ther could be a cap for water to go onto the brick work making it damp. Also possible could have damaged some of your slates when the work was carried out

A good answer from the other guy but in my experience work men walking on your roof and braking tiles and didn't replace them

It could be a number of things, the gutter possibly but you don’t say how far along the wall is damp. The dpc could of slipped, the felt might not be long enough to overlap next door, the ridge tiles may not be seated corrected and running down the felt. You will need to get it looked at
